RSG Solutions

September 24, 2021

Please join us in giving a warm welcome to our recent hires: Samantha Wu Rose and Rebecca Riddle! We are thrilled to have two new members that are sure to help take RSG to great heights.

Meet Samantha:

“I am passionate about building thriving communities through engagement and strategic planning that improves accessibility to stable housing, supportive services, and economic opportunities for all community members. Through my work I hope to provide resources and solutions that promote equity and empower communities to determine their own futures.”

Samantha joins the team as our newest Research Assistant, based out of Northern California. With a degree in Urban Planning and Sustainability, along with her experience working on large community and economic development projects, her passion for building vibrant and healthy communities is apparent.

Previously serving as a Project Assistant for Oregon Metro, Samantha conducted research for national models of workforce diversity, equity in contracting, multi-agency governance structures, and regional demographic data. Samantha also consulted for the NeighborWorks VISTA Program, helping to improve program practices by developing new materials, standardizing processes, and providing technical assistance to subsites.

Since starting, Samantha has focused much of her time on assisting with one of our largest offerings—affordable housing. Her recent engagements at RSG include:

  • Preparing and sending desk monitoring notices to affordable properties in Carson in order to request income certification materials and ensure compliance with affordable housing requirements.
  • Providing research assistance to support the relocation of mobile home park residents in Carson to ensure that they found suitable and affordable housing options.

Outside of work, Samantha loves to spend her free time hiking, caring for her houseplants, and visiting the park for some fresh air and people watching.

It is clear to us that Samantha truly cares for communities, both professionally and personally. We look forward to being a part of her continued efforts to provide solutions that build capital and opportunities for local communities.

Meet Rebecca:

“I am passionate about improving equity within society through research, data analysis, and evidence-based recommendations. I firmly believe that the capacity building of local leaders and communities produces positive outcomes for community members.”

Originally from Northern San Diego County, Rebecca recently started as an Analyst at RSG. Rebecca brings with her a background in research covering the topics of housing, homelessness, and community perspectives.

Her expertise in data collection and analysis is supported by her time spent as a Contact Tracer for the County of San Diego, as well as by her research for the SDSU Center for Regional Sustainability on a homelessness symposium. She now joins RSG with a strong interest in affordable housing. Among Rebecca’s recent engagements are:

  • Conducting data analysis of affordable housing projects, where she identified findings and coordinated corrections to ensure alignment with affordable housing requirements.
  • Preparing and sending desk monitoring notices to affordable properties with Orange County Community Resources.

What is not shown on her resume is that Rebecca has played roller hockey since the age of four, has an affinity for the color purple, and loves the versatility of potatoes—whether baked, fried, or mashed!

While we may be partial to orange as our favorite color, it’s clear that Rebecca holds the necessary skills and mindset that will surely make her a great addition to our organization.

Welcome aboard Sam & Rebecca!
