RSG created an Economic Revitalization and Development Strategic Plan, focused on maximizing the effectiveness of current programs while augmenting capacity to network with local and regional business organizations. In collaboration with the City, RSG held four business workshops and one resident and workforce workshop to gain insight on the economic challenges facing each of these groups in Carlsbad as the City and community recover from the pandemic. RSG collected this feedback, analyzed the results, and identified gaps between existing programs and the needs of the business community and utilized this data to create a SWOT analysis. Throughout the development of the Strategy, RSG presented updates and received direction from the staff, Executive Leadership, and the City Council Economic Development Subcommittee.
In January 2023, the City Council unanimously adopted the Economic Development Strategic Plan.
